Only a few more weeks and Angele will finally meet the baby who’s been growing in her for 35 weeks. She wanted some creative and natural maternity photography so we took her out to a field and forest in Abbotsford. We also included big sister Emerson in a few of the pictures. And without further delay because I suspect Angele’s been checking the blog every day since her session here are a few of our favorites ….

Nathan and Rachel are the owners of Blue Sky Baby, a children’s clothing and product store in Mission. We met them recently at this session where their daughter, Maisie, stole the show. She’s a natural model and will tell people how she puts her hands in her pockets and smiles at the camera for Jason. She was looking forward to the family session and brought it again.

Most of you who follow our blog realize that Jason’s a talented photographer. However, you might not also realize that he’s a first class dad and husband as well. We’re completely spoiled! He cooks, cleans, takes care of the kids, loves to chat about his thoughts and feelings and is an all around amazing guy.

This Father’s Day after having breakfast in bed, he went off to Mill Lake Park to do photos of families at the annual Celebrate Dads event put on by the Abbotsford Early Childhood Committee. Rollingdale Winery in Kelowna recently sent some more wine for us to photograph. Photographing reflective, round objects without including ourselves or other objects in the reflection is always a challenge. It makes us think back to the sort of assignments we’d get in photography school.

Jacqueline and Don of Homeworks Etc. create fun furniture and accessories for kids and families. We photographed everything from pictures frames to foot stools to growth charts at a recent session at Off to Bed in Fort Langley.

Kyrah loves being photographed and is an amazing little model. Marlene was the winner of the radio station Country 107.1 Mother’s Day contest. Part of her pampering package was a photo session and large framed print from Revival Arts Studio. She is a proud wife and mother of 5 boys so this was right up her alley. The Kielstra family have some beautiful acreage on Sumas Prairie that has a view of Mt. Baker that Jason took advantage of for the photos. Here are a few favorites …

All the products are perfect for families who enjoy spending time in the outdoors together. The booties slip on over bare feet, socks, sleepers, slippers, a snuggly or even shoes to keep little feet warm and dry. As artists who have studied the classical technique of every art form we’ve tried, we know the importance of finding a teacher who is able to challenge students by insisting on proper technique while nurturing the students’ artistic passion.

Denise Lafortune, of the Lower Mainland Academy of Classical Ballet in Abbotsford, is such a teacher. Her students love to dance and they dance beautifully. Each year they receive high marks in their Royal Academy of Ballet Examinations and consistently place at the top of their classes in competitions.
